Cortney Moore

Cortney Moore may be the Nursery Manager of Tahoe Outdoor Living, but she would truly describe herself as a horticulture activist. Her passion for plants developed while working in her mom’s flower beds and at her family’s greenhouse business.

Cortney earned her horticulture degree from Montana State University, and has over a decade of greenhouse and garden center management experience.

Cortney moved to Lake Tahoe in November of 2007, and began working at Tahoe Outdoor Living in April of 2008. She appreciates the magical beauty of Tahoe, and hopes to teach people responsible gardening and landscaping techniques to protect the area for future generations.

A personal goal for Cortney is to educate people about the positive benefits of growing and appreciating plants and flowers.

“I want the nursery to be a relaxing, educational place for people to come and have their questions answered, as well as continuing to help me learn about planting in the Tahoe Basin. Continuing education is one of the things I love most about this industry. It is always growing and there is always something new!”

Quality and customer service is a main focus for Cortney.

“I know how frustrating plants can be to even the most seasoned gardener, so we strive to keep plant material healthy, well organized, and answer all questions to the best of our ability. If we don’t have the answer for you at that moment, we will research it and get the information to you. We want your experience to be pleasant and lead to success.”

Jose Gonzalez

Jose Gonzalez is the Assistant Manager of Tahoe Outdoor Living Nursery. Jose grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, and moved to Tahoe in 1990. This is Jose’s third season with Tahoe Outdoor Living. He loves living in Tahoe, and working in the nursery. Jose is well educated about the plant material that does best here, and continues to learn by adding plants to his own landscape.

Jose’s outgoing personality, friendly smile and professional nursery skills keep customers coming back for more. We always have people asking for him by name and paying him compliments when they call the office, or meet with our sales team.

Come in, say “Hi” to Jose, and have him tell you about his favorite plants for the Tahoe area.”.
